Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Hoàng Xuân Chiến presented the official decisions from the State President and the Defence Minister to the officers, which include Lieutenant Colonel Vũ Thị Kim Oanh and Lieutenant Colonel Nguyễn Văn Thu, who will serve in roles at the UN Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), and Captain Chu Tuấn Linh, who will take on the position of military observer at the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS). Lieutenant Colonel Oanh will fulfill her duties as quartermaster, while Lieutenant Colonel Thu will work as a senior staff officer for training at UNISFA. These officers will replace their predecessors, ensuring continuity in the Vietnamese contributions to these crucial international missions. Major General Phạm Mạnh Thắng, Director of the Việt Nam Department of Peacekeeping Operations, affirmed that these officers have successfully completed thorough training aligned with the standards set by the United Nations and the Ministry of Defence.
