I look forward to the summit deliberations and fruitful talks with various world leaders.” During the summit, scheduled for November 18-19, he will join other leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Joe Biden, as part of the G20 Troika, which also includes South Africa. Following the summit in Brazil, PM Modi is set to visit Guyana from November 19-21, a historic trip as it will be the first by an Indian prime minister to the country in over half a century. In a statement prior to his departure, he remarked, “This year, Brazil has built upon India’s legacy. I look forward to meaningful discussions in keeping with our vision of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’.” Modi emphasized his aim to further bilateral cooperation with numerous world leaders during this summit. Additionally, PM Modi’s recent visit to Nigeria was highlighted by his receipt of the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON), an honor awarded by Nigeria’s government, making him only the second foreign dignitary to receive such recognition. This accolade marks PM Modi’s 17th international award, with Queen Elizabeth II being the sole other foreign recipient of this honor. Notably, PM Modi’s trip was the first official visit by an Indian prime minister to Nigeria in 17 years.
