Jordan’s Minister of Industry Yarub Qudah met Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Sudani in Baghdad to enhance economic relations. On February 3, 2025, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yarub Qudah convened with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Sudani in Baghdad to advance economic and commercial bilateral relations. The discussions were part of the Jordanian-Iraqi Joint Trade Committee sessions, concentrating on enhancing industrial cooperation between the two nations.

The dialogue encompassed the development of a joint border economic city, aimed at fostering economic integration and investment opportunities. Additionally, they reviewed the Iraq Development Road project, intending to facilitate mutual economic benefits for both countries.

Minister Qudah emphasized the Jordanian government’s support for Iraq’s initiative to host the Arab Summit in Baghdad later this year. Following the talks, the Joint Trade Committee successfully concluded its meetings with the signing of a memorandum of understanding on standardization and quality control between Qudah and Iraqi Minister of Trade Atheer Ghurairi.
