On Tuesday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh conducted bilateral meetings with the Defence Ministers of Armenia, Malawi, and Madagascar during Aero India 2025 in Bengaluru. Notable attendees included Suren Papikyan from Armenia, Monica Chang’ Anamuno from Malawi, and Lieutenant General Sahivelo Lala Monja Delphin from Madagascar.
In a subsequent post on social media, Singh shared his positive discussions with Lt Gen Delphin of Madagascar, emphasizing productive outcomes. He also highlighted an excellent meeting with Malawi’s Defence Minister, Ms. Anamuno, where they agreed to fast-track a Memorandum of Understanding on Defence Cooperation to bolster their strategic collaboration.
Additionally, Singh remarked on his fruitful dialogue with Armenia’s Defence Minister, Suren Papikyan, noting significant advancements in their defence relationship and a mutual agreement to enhance cooperation further. Earlier that day, at the Global Investors Meet (GIM) 2025, Singh affirmed Bengaluru’s pivotal role in shaping India’s technological future, stating it would contribute to the country’s first Foundational AI Model.
Singh emphasized Bengaluru as a crucible of innovation crucial to India’s aerospace industry, attributing its prominence to organizations such as Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. He highlighted India’s pivot towards Cooperative Federalism, citing the collaborative efforts of Central and State Governments, particularly through the GST system.
He acknowledged the centrality of Prime Minister Modi’s leadership in fostering a culture of collaboration and noted his own experience as a former Chief Minister. Furthermore, Singh participated in the Defence Ministers’ conclave, “BRIDGE–Building Resilience through International Defence and Global Engagement,” addressing the rising unpredictability of global conflicts and emphasizing India’s commitment to peace and collective security against challenges such as terrorism and cybercrime.
