India Critiques Pakistan at UN, Labels It a ‘Failed State’

In its Right of Reply, India criticized Pakistan as a “failed state” that relies on international support while disseminating false narratives stemming from its military-terrorist complex.
Counsellor at India’s Permanent Mission to the UN, Kshitij Tyagi, articulated concern over Pakistan’s repeated attempts to mislead the international community, stating, “it is regrettable, yet unsurprising, to see Pakistan’s so-called leaders and delegates continuing to dutifully spread falsehoods handed down by its military-terrorist complex.”
Highlighting the progress in Jammu and Kashmir, Tyagi asserted that the region is an integral part of India, emphasizing that the recent socio-economic advancements demonstrate the government’s commitment to restoring normalcy. He pointed out that such developments are indicative of the people’s trust in the country’s governance amidst the backdrop of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.
Tyagi further remarked on Pakistan’s internal issues, arguing that the nation, which suffers from human rights abuses and has a history of harboring UN-sanctioned terrorists, lacks the authority to lecture others on governance. He advised Pakistan to divert its focus from India and instead address the governance and justice issues facing its citizens.
Moreover, he criticized Pakistan’s misuse of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as a platform for propaganda, stating, “we do not wish to dignify such propaganda, but are constrained to make a few simple points for the record.” Tyagi reaffirmed India’s commitment to democracy and human dignity, suggesting that Pakistan could benefit from learning these values.
