The earthquake’s epicenter was located near Bhairab Kunda within the Sindhupalchok District. The German Research Centre for Geosciences, however, recorded a slightly lower magnitude of 5.6 and noted a depth of 10 kilometers (approximately 6.21 miles).
There have been no immediate reports of structural damage or injuries resulting from this seismic event. “It shook us from our sleep strongly,” stated Ganesh Nepali, a senior official from the Sindhupalchok district, in a conversation with Reuters. He added that residents hurriedly evacuated their homes but have since returned, with no further reports of damage or injuries having been received so far.
