Martha Karua has rebranded NARC-Kenya as the People’s Liberation Party, emphasizing unity among leaders for better service delivery. The launch included calls to engage youth in the 2027 elections and featured new party colors, a revised slogan, and a changed symbol. This rebranding indicates a strategic shift aimed at resonating with younger voters while maintaining the party’s core mission.

Martha Karua, the leader of NARC-Kenya, has officially rebranded her party as the People’s Liberation Party (PLP) during a recent event in Nairobi. The rebranding event was attended by notable figures such as Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, and Rigathi Gachagua, highlighting a united political front. Karua emphasized the importance of unity among leaders to prioritize service delivery and foster prosperity within the nation.

In her address, Karua stated, “The call for unity is the foundation of the liberation movement and our commitment today is to do just that.” Moreover, Musyoka declared that the PLP would focus on becoming an action-oriented unity movement, asserting that unity should transcend mere opposition to individuals resulting from misrule.

Gachagua encouraged the youth to actively participate in the electoral process by registering as voters ahead of the 2027 general elections. He remarked, “The real transformation of this country will happen on the ballot,” urging the younger generation to engage politically rather than just on social media platforms.

The rebrand includes a change in the party’s colors to purple, lilac, and white, shifting away from the previous red, white, and green associated with NARC-Kenya. The new party slogan, “Unite” and “Liberate,” replaces the former motto, “One Kenya, One Nation, One People,” and the party’s symbol has transitioned from a red rose to a purple rose.

Despite the visual changes, Karua clarified that the essence and original mission of the party, established in 2006, remain intact. The rebranding aligns with a strategic push to connect with the Generation Z demographic, which is anticipated to play a crucial role in the upcoming elections. This move follows Eugene Wamalwa’s launch of the new Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K), showing a trend towards coalitions in the Kenyan political landscape.
