This event, a segment of Microsoft’s global tour across 60 countries, highlighted the company’s commitment to aiding Oman’s Vision 2040 through innovative AI solutions.
Keynote speakers included prominent Microsoft executives such as Samer Abu-Ltaif, the President for EMEA, Charles Nahas, the Regional General Manager for Middle East Commercial Solutions, and Harry Kambanis, Business Group Leader for Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa. In his address, Ltaif emphasized the significance of technological advancements for Oman’s economic and national development.
Additionally, Sheikh Saif Hilal al Hosni, Microsoft’s Country Manager for Oman and Bahrain, remarked on the increasing recognition of AI by Omani businesses as a pivotal factor for enhancing efficiency and competitiveness. Other organizations like the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) and Omantel are also utilizing AI to enhance content creation and operational efficiencies, respectively.
Ahmed Al Habib from Oman Housing Bank commented on the impact of Microsoft 365 Copilot, noting the transformative improvement in productivity and service delivery. This illustrates AI’s current relevance in workplace efficiency rather than a distant concept.
