Success of the USPSA Grand Prix Series by Jamaica Rifle Association

The Jamaica Rifle Association successfully hosted the USPSA Grand Prix series, showcasing exceptional talent across multiple divisions. The event featured prominent competitors, with standout performances in Limited Optics, Production, Open, and Carry Optics divisions. Looking ahead, Jamaica will be represented at the world shoot in South Africa and the upcoming Panama Open Handgun Championships.
The Jamaica Rifle Association (JRA) had a successful hosting of the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) Grand Prix series last weekend, emphasizing the talent present across various divisions. The event ran simultaneously with the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) Grand Prix series, providing an exciting day filled with live firing across five featured divisions: Limited, Production, Open, Limited Optics, and Carry Optics.
Results revealed Ryan Bramwell leading the Limited Optics division with a strong score of 789 points, followed by Petrano Belafonte at 705. In the Production division, Anthony Johnson triumphed with 709 points, closely pursued by Josimar Clarke and Rohan Wallace. The Open division saw Alvin Amore take first place, while Thomas Jones captured the High Iron sight award with a notable score of 737 points.
Chris Hart emerged victorious in the Carry Optics division, outperforming competitors Robin Rickhi and Dufton Shepherd. As the JRA prepares for the world shoot in South Africa later this year, nine competitors are expected to compete in the Panama Open Handgun Championships next month, including three of Jamaica’s top female pistol shooters, Shayon Francis, Yeonie Campbell, and Sasha-Gay Mullings.
The National Grand Prix series will continue next month at the Mountain View Avenue Range, with the IPSC edition set to feature an exciting 10-stage competition.
