On Friday, the Iraqi embassy in Ankara conducted a seminar to explore the procedures for providing entry visas to Turkish investors while showcasing potential investment opportunities in Iraq for 2025. Ambassador Majid Al-Lajmawi announced that trade between Iraq and Turkey had exceeded $15 billion.
The event featured key officials, including the head of the Turkish-Iraqi Parliamentary Friendship Committee, Muhammad Mufid Aydin, and other dignitaries, including Turkish businessmen and investors. They discussed ways to bolster economic collaboration and address challenges in bilateral relations.
Ambassador Al-Lajmawi emphasized the Iraqi government’s commitment to simplifying visa procedures for Turkish investors to enhance economic ties. He indicated that the embassy had pursued special exemptions for direct visa issuance to these investors.
He elaborated on the robust economic relationship between Iraq and Turkey, inviting investments in diverse sectors such as energy, infrastructure, industry, agriculture, and technology. He also noted that the trade volume surpassed $15 billion in 2024, excluding oil.
The head of the Turkish-Iraqi Parliamentary Friendship Committee commended the Iraqi embassy’s efforts in easing visa processes, highlighting the significance of reinforcing economic relations. Additionally, the deputy head of the Parliamentary Investment Committee forecasted increased investment projects for 2025, with enhanced facilities in renewable energy, manufacturing, and technology sectors.
