“So will [Florida Republican Rep.] Mario [Diaz-Balart], so will [Florida Republican Rep.] Maria [Salazar], and so will [Sen.] Rick Scott, and so will President Donald J. Trump,” he stated, reinforcing the collective stance of Florida’s Republican representatives. He articulated a vision for collaborative efforts to liberate nations under dictatorial control, recognizing their interconnected struggles for freedom.
“I expect this is just the first step in trying to liberate these countries. The people of Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua deserve freedom,” Gimenez expressed, arguing that improving relations with these states serves U.S. national interests, especially given Cuba’s geographic proximity to Florida.
