Algerian Embassy Signs Agreement for New Diplomatic Headquarters in Egypt
The Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) and the Embassy of Algeria in Cairo have signed a land sale agreement for 23,316 sqm to construct the Algerian embassy headquarters and residence in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital. The project aims to enhance services and ease congestion in Cairo, aligning with the leadership directives of both nations.
The Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) has finalized a land sale agreement with the Embassy of Algeria in Cairo. This agreement pertains to two plots of land covering a total of 23,316 square meters. The designated area will be developed into the new headquarters for the Algerian embassy and the ambassador’s residence, located in the Diplomatic District of the New Administrative Capital.
The agreement was executed by Khaled Abbas, Chairperson and Managing Director of ACUD, and Mohamed Sofiane Berrah, the Algerian Ambassador to Egypt. Senior officials from both organizations were present during the signing ceremony, symbolizing the collaborative effort behind this significant diplomatic initiative.
Ambassador Berrah noted the importance of this project for Egypt, asserting that it would ease congestion and improve services in Cairo. He expressed gratitude to ACUD for their support, stating that the embassy’s relocation aligns with the leadership directives of both nations, reinforcing their diplomatic relations.
Chairperson Abbas expressed appreciation for Ambassador Berrah, indicating that this agreement marks a milestone in relocating the embassy to the new Diplomatic District. He emphasized that Algeria’s presence will enhance the diplomatic fabric of the New Administrative Capital, further solidifying its status as a central hub for foreign missions.
The master plan for the New Administrative Capital encompasses the Diplomatic District, where all foreign embassies and diplomatic missions currently situated throughout Cairo will be relocated. The agreement with Algeria adds to a series of similar arrangements with other diplomatic entities, advancing the overall strategy of establishing the New Administrative Capital as Egypt’s primary diplomatic center.
