The announcement was made at a gathering in Ganta, Nimba County, attended by thousands, including 21 members of the MDR National Executive Committee. Representative Kogar, a former member of the People’s Unification Party (PUP), has now aligned with MDR.

MDR Vice Chairman Kelvin D.J. Msttadi revealed that the endorsement stemmed from a formal request by Representative Kogar himself and a thorough evaluation of his performance in leadership. The party executives considered his track record crucial in their decision to support him. This process reflects the party’s commitment to choosing effective candidates for representation.

MDR National Chairman Cllr. Cooper Kruah emphasized the need for unity among Nimbaians and urged comprehensive support for the party’s candidate. Chairman Kruah warned against division and urged party loyalty, stating, “We must stand together and speak with one voice.”

He highlighted the importance of unity and pledged to enhance the party’s influence by recruiting more legislators, including members of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC). Kogar called on voters to prioritize leadership capabilities over individual popularity, stressing, “Do not let the dream of the late Senator Prince Johnson fade.”
