TikTok Launches ‘Safer Together’ Initiative for Digital Literacy in Iraq

TikTok, in collaboration with the INSM Foundation, has initiated the “Safer Together” program in Iraq to boost digital literacy among youth aged 13-18 and their families. Fatih Kafadar, who oversees Government Relations and Public Policy at TikTok for Turkiye and the Levant, emphasized the platform’s commitment to creating a secure online environment. He stated, “Our goal is to ensure TikTok remains a secure and supportive space for young users,” conveying the importance of equipping them with tools and knowledge for responsible engagement online.
Hayder Hamzoz, the Executive Director of INSM Foundation for Digital Rights, also underlined the significance of this initiative. He remarked, “Creating a safe and informed digital environment is essential,” stressing that digital literacy is critical for fostering responsible engagement and enhancing community resilience among youth, parents, and educators alike.
