In honor of Ghana’s 68th Independence Day, the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations has entered a significant partnership with the nation’s major telecommunications companies: MTN Ghana, Telecel Ghana, and AT Ghana. This initiative, instituted under the guidance of President H.E. John Dramani Mahama, aims to provide enhanced digital services to citizens.

The Minister of Communication, Hon. Sam George, announced via social media that these three telecom providers will each offer a special Independence Day Data Bundle priced at GHS10, which includes 6GB of data. This is a considerable upgrade from the standard offering of 1GB and the customary holiday promotion of 3GB.

Minister Sam George highlighted the overarching goal of this initiative, stating it aims to “build enablers for a truly digitalized Ghana,” which will enable citizens to take advantage of global opportunities from their residences.

To activate this Independence Day Bundle from different telecom providers, here are the steps:

MTN Ghana: Dial *138on your MTN phone, select Option 2: Special Day Bundle, then choose the Independence Day package and follow the prompts.

Telecel Ghana: Dial *700on your Telecel phone, navigate to the special data bundle section, then select the Independence Day offer and confirm.

AT Ghana: Dial *567on your AT Ghana line, select Option 3: Special Offers, choose the Independence Day bundle, and follow the prompts to complete the purchase.

The Minister reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to developing a detailed plan for sustainably reducing data prices. On March 7, 2025, the Ministry will present short, medium, and long-term strategies aimed at making internet access more affordable as part of Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.

This special data bundle will only be available on Independence Day, March 6, 2025. Once purchased, it will remain valid for three days after activation. Users are encouraged to activate their bundles promptly to maximize the benefits before expiration.
