Mr. Norring stated, “We must find sustainable solutions to ensure that water is managed effectively and can be safely reintroduced into circulation.” He reiterated Denmark’s role as a reliable partner to Ghana in addressing water challenges and acknowledged the longstanding development aid support that Denmark has provided, which spans over 40 years.

The Embassy plans to strengthen regional capacities to combat maritime crimes through extensive programming.
Minister of Local Government, Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim, recognized the enduring collaboration with Denmark in various sectors, such as water and sanitation, through the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA). He mentioned successful interventions including the Danish Support to District Assemblies and current projects aimed at managing the Central Sewerage System in Tema, which faces challenges due to population growth and improper waste disposal.
Furthermore, Mr. Ibrahim expressed the Ministry’s intention to work closely with the Danish Embassy in building the capacities of officials and enhancing sanitation and environmental sustainability. The establishment of a University of Local Governance and Development was also mentioned as a means to better equip staff for their responsibilities.
