Chinese and Somali Officials Discuss Strategic Partnership Enhancements

Chinese Ambassador Wang Yu met with Somali Foreign Minister Ahmed Moallim Fiqi to discuss the enhancement of their strategic partnership and cooperation in various fields. They expressed hopes for achieving practical results ahead of the 65th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, highlighting the positive developments since the FOCAC summit.

On February 10th, His Excellency Wang Yu, the Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, held a meeting with His Excellency Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. During this discussion, both officials explored ways to deepen bilateral cooperation across various sectors and enhance the strategic partnership between China and Somalia.

Both officials praised the advancements in the China-Somalia relationship that have occurred since the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit. They also expressed optimism regarding the prospect of achieving more tangible outcomes from their mutually beneficial collaborations, particularly as they commemorate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
