TEHRAN – Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani has strongly urged the United States and Israel to reconsider their military threats against Iran’s nuclear facilities, warning that such actions pose an existential threat to regional stability. In an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, he stressed that military strikes could result in widespread conflict across the region and lead to an environmental disaster affecting millions.
The Prime Minister emphasized that if the U.S. approves an attack on Iran’s nuclear sites, one could expect significant retaliation, which may undermine U.S. strategic interests in West Asia. He also highlighted the possible ecological fallout from attacks, particularly contamination from Iranian nuclear sites, which could jeopardize critical desalination infrastructure and threaten clean water supply in Qatar and neighboring states.
“If clean water is compromised, Qatar could face dire shortages in just three days,” he warned, illustrating the immediate humanitarian impact that military actions could yield.
