Angola plans to increase its coffee production to over 8,000 tons by 2025, compared to 6,000 tons in the previous year. This increase is attributed to greater investments in the coffee sector. The leading coffee-producing region is Cuanza Norte, followed by Uige and Cuanza Sul, with market prices for coffee ranging between 2 million and 3 million kwanza.

Angola is set to significantly boost its coffee production, targeting a harvest of over 8,000 tons in 2025, which marks an increase of 2,000 tons compared to the previous year. This initiative is primarily driven by enhanced investments from both farmers and companies within the sector.

Vasco Goncalves, the director-general of the National Coffee Institute, highlighted that the current market price for a ton of commercial coffee varies between 2 million and 3 million kwanza, translating to roughly 2,192 to 3,289 U.S. dollars.

He also emphasized that Cuanza Norte Province holds the title of Angola’s leading coffee-producing region, closely followed by the provinces of Uige and Cuanza Sul.
