Kazakh Girls Shine at Adriatic Pearl Youth Tournament Finals

Eight Kazakh girls advanced to the finals of the Adriatic Pearl Youth Tournament in Budva, Montenegro. Eight talented Kazakh girls have reached the finals of the prestigious Adriatic Pearl Youth Tournament held in Budva, Montenegro. This event follows closely after the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships, which took place last October and November in the same city. The tournament features participants born in 2007 and 2008, competing in 12 women’s and 13 men’s weight categories, with strong contenders from nations such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Turkey, Cuba, and Azerbaijan.

Rakhmina Abdumezhitova notably surpassed expectations in the flyweight (52kg) semi-final against Turkey’s experienced Rabia Eylul Duman. Utilizing effective strategies, Abdumezhitova will face Russia’s Junior World Champion, Snezhana Kuznetsova, in the title match.

Another standout, Aknur Tursyngali, performed exceptionally well in the women’s featherweight (57kg) division, defeating Russia’s Arina Kuzmicheva. Her teammate, Regina Tibenyova, also showcased her skills by overcoming Belarus’ top boxer, Natalia Nasachova, setting the stage for an all-Kazakh final.

Alina Kudaigenova, an ASBC Champion, arrived in Budva as a strong contender in the women’s light welterweight (63kg) category. She displayed enhanced technical skills against Turkey’s Elif Elden and will now compete against Irina Korobova of Russia for the championship title.

Akbota Yessimbekova, the ASBC Asian Junior silver medallist, continued her impressive streak in the women’s welterweight (66kg) by defeating Azerbaijan’s Ozlam Hasanova. She will compete against compatriot Aisulu Mukhit, who eliminated Russia’s Maria Mashnikova to secure her final spot.

Mariya Sidorenko, who also participated as a member of the youth national team in 2024, made a strong return four months later. The 18-year-old light middleweight (70kg) secured victory over Russia’s Vlada Kuleshova in the semi-finals, while Sabina Zhaksylyk triumphed in the heavyweight (+81kg) division.
