In response, the National Roads Administration (ANE) has dispatched engineers along with the contractor responsible for the emergency repairs to assess the site. Many areas across Nampula province remain inaccessible, with notable road cuts reported from Nametil to Angoche and from Nampula to Liúpio, as well as at the Naguema and Chocas-mar intersection, among other locations. Anacleta Botão, the INGD delegate in Nampula, stated that concrete data regarding the human impact of the cyclone is currently unavailable, largely due to limitations in on-ground survey capabilities. Improvements in weather conditions were noted only on Tuesday morning, enabling further assessments.
Despite the challenges, Botão confirmed that emergency kits have been strategically positioned in areas identified as potential impact sites to assist those in need. These preparations are critical in ensuring timely support for affected communities amidst the ongoing crisis.
