Angola Inflation Rate Declines to One-Year Low at 25.26% in February 2025

The annual inflation rate in Angola decreased to 25.26% in February 2025, marking a one-year low. This decline is attributed to the stability of the kwanza and a monthly consumer price increase of 1.59%. Notable price slowdowns occurred in food, beverages, and miscellaneous goods.
In February 2025, Angola recorded its annual inflation rate at 25.26%, marking a significant decrease for the seventh consecutive month, as it fell from 26.48% the previous month. This decline can be attributed to the relative stability of the kwanza, the national currency, which has contributed to the easing of inflation pressures.
On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices increased by 1.59% in February, slightly lower than the 1.67% rise observed in January. The slowdown in price increases was most notable in several categories, particularly food and non-alcoholic beverages, which rose by 1.75% compared to a 1.87% increase in January. Alcoholic beverages also saw a reduction, rising by 1.91% against the prior month’s 2.02%, along with miscellaneous goods and services, which recorded a rise of 1.67%, down from 1.84%.
The Angolan inflation rate has reached its lowest level in a year, with a gradual easing of inflation pressures over the past seven months. The stabilization of the currency has contributed to this trend, alongside a general slowdown in price increases across various consumer goods.
