Khamenei asserted, “We sat down for years and negotiated. This same person threw off the table and tore apart the concluded, finalized, and signed negotiations.” He emphasized that the Trump administration’s history of dishonoring agreements diminishes the purpose of further discussions.

The Leader critiqued the intention behind such negotiations, indicating that they are designed to mislead the public while maintaining sanctions. He stated, “If the purpose of negotiations is to lift the sanctions, negotiating with this US administration will not remove the sanctions.” Khamenei argued that engaging with the United States would only intensify existing pressures and lead to additional demands.

Responding to accusations of Iran’s nuclear ambitions, Khamenei asserted that Iran is not pursuing nuclear weapons, claiming the country could have developed them if it wished. He remarked, “It is said that ‘We won’t let Iran obtain nuclear weapons.’ Had we wanted to build nuclear weapons, America could not have stopped us.” Emphasizing Iran’s preparedness for a military confrontation, he warned that the United States would incur greater losses in any conflict.

On sanctions, Khamenei noted their diminishing effectiveness, as Iran has implemented measures to counteract them. “Over time, when sanctions persist globally, they gradually lose their impact. Even they (US officials) themselves admit this,” he said. Nevertheless, he acknowledged that many of Iran’s economic struggles result from internal mishandling rather than solely from external sanctions.

Khamenei also reflected on the martyrdom of key resistance figures, asserting that these losses do not equate to weakness. He stated, “Yes, these brothers were incredibly valuable individuals…but today, despite their absence, we are stronger in some areas compared to last year.” He believed that the ongoing commitment to ideals is vital for national resilience, saying, “If these two factors exist within a nation, then while the absence of such individuals may be a loss, it won’t disrupt the overall movement forward.”
