Jamaica Sees Reduction in Fuel Prices Effective December 5, 2024

Starting December 5, 2024, gasoline prices in Jamaica will decrease by $3.06 for both 90-octane and 87-octane. Diesel prices will also fall, with automotive diesel at $161.47 and ultra-low sulphur diesel at $168.59. Kerosene and liquid petroleum prices will see similar reductions.

Effective Thursday, December 5, motorists in Jamaica will experience a reduction in fuel prices. According to the latest ex-refinery costs from Petrojam, the price of 90-octane gasoline will decrease by $3.06, bringing it to $164.04 per litre, while 87-octane will also see a decline, now priced at $155.07 per litre.

Additionally, automotive diesel fuel will be priced at $161.47 per litre following a similar reduction of $3.06, and ultra-low sulphur diesel will be sold for $168.59, down by $2.94. Kerosene has also fallen by $3.06, now costing $145.15 per litre. Furthermore, propane liquid petroleum is reduced to $73.34 per litre, down by $0.77, and butane liquid petroleum will be sold for $82.87 per litre, which is a decrease of $0.92. Marketing companies and retailers will apply their mark-ups to these prices.

In summary, effective December 5, Jamaicans will benefit from decreased fuel prices across various categories including gasoline, diesel, and kerosene. The adjustments reflect a considerable relief for drivers and users of petroleum products as the economy adapts to the latest ex-refinery costs.
