Botswana’s inflation rate increased to 2.7% in February 2025, its highest in six months, up from 2.5%. The largest price hikes were in miscellaneous goods & services (7.7%), alcoholic beverages & tobacco (7.4%), and food & non-alcoholic beverages (5.5%). Monthly consumer prices increased by 0.3%.

In February 2025, Botswana recorded an annual inflation rate of 2.7%, marking a rise for the second consecutive month and reaching its highest point in six months, up from 2.5% the previous month. This increase is primarily attributed to significant price hikes in various sectors, including miscellaneous goods and services, which surged by 7.7%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco increasing by 7.4%, and food and non-alcoholic beverages rising by 5.5%. Furthermore, on a monthly basis, consumer prices exhibited a slight increase of 0.3%, following a 0.5% uptick in the preceding month.
