Claro Colombia Optimizes Operations with Oracle Cloud Migration

Claro Colombia has successfully migrated its critical systems to Oracle Cloud, significantly reducing data latency and deployment times, while boosting team productivity. The partnership includes a substantial investment in a cloud datacenter and aims to improve cybersecurity and AI integration in corporate offerings.
Claro Colombia has enhanced its operational efficiency with the migration of critical IT systems to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This move has notably decreased transactional data latency in Bogotá, now averaging between 4 to 5 seconds, and reduced the time required to deploy new infrastructure from four months to merely two weeks. The improvements have also led to increased team productivity, as announced during the company’s Tech Summit.
The collaboration between Claro and Oracle, established in 2022, includes an investment of US$25 million in Claro’s Triara datacenter, strategically located on the Bogotá-Medellín highway. The project involved migrating over 100 on-premise servers that handle mission-critical processes to the expansive Oracle cloud infrastructure. In its inaugural year, Oracle’s Colombian cloud region experienced significant growth, increasing from seven to nearly 500 customers and expanding service offerings from 20 to more than 150.
In conclusion, Claro Colombia’s strategic migration to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure demonstrates a significant advancement in operational efficiency, with tangible benefits in both latency and deployment times. The partnership marks a crucial investment in enhancing technical capabilities to further bolster cybersecurity and the incorporation of AI technology into corporate solutions.
