The European Union (EU) has pledged a sum of €46 million to fortify Nigeria’s social protection system through a new initiative named “Sustainable Social Protection System in Nigeria.” Launched at the United Nations House in Abuja, this program represents a significant advancement toward establishing comprehensive social safety nets in Nigeria. As clarified by Osagie Jacobs J.I., Director of Information & Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning, this initiative was developed through a collaborative effort between the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning (FMBEP) and the EU.
