Pedro Acosta has assessed the cause of his crash during the MotoGP Thai Grand Prix, expressing confidence in preventing future occurrences. As he prepares for the Argentine GP, he anticipates challenges due to unfamiliarity with the track and poor conditions. Acosta remains optimistic about improving his performance despite these obstacles.

Pedro Acosta, the KTM rider, has identified the cause of his crash during the MotoGP Thai Grand Prix and is confident in his ability to prevent a recurrence. Acosta came into the season-opener in Buriram as a strong contender but encountered difficulties, eventually finishing in 19th place following an early crash while running in ninth position.

Acosta, who had experienced an unfortunate season in 2024 with 28 crashes, noted that he felt it was easier to lose control of the rear of the 2025 KTM during braking. Despite the setback, he expressed assurance about understanding the issues that led to his crash, stating, “I already understand what happened in Thailand, and I know what needs to change to prevent that from happening again.”

The upcoming Argentine GP presents unique challenges for Acosta, who has not competed at the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit in MotoGP due to budget cuts. His previous performances there include a 12th place finish in the 2023 Moto2 race and a seventh place in 2022. Despite KTM’s successes in the 2023 Argentine GP, such as Brad Binder’s sprint race victory, Acosta anticipates difficulties due to a lack of data from the circuit.

Acosta voiced his concerns about the condition of the track, predicting that the opening session on Friday would not yield meaningful results due to poor racing conditions. He remarked, “Friday morning’s session will probably be a waste of time, as the conditions won’t be right for racing.”

Overall, Acosta remains optimistic about his performance while acknowledging the complexities of adapting to the conditions in Argentina, setting a determined tone for his upcoming race weekend.

Pedro Acosta has recognized the factors contributing to his crash at the Thai Grand Prix and is confident in his ability to prevent future incidents. As he prepares for the Argentine GP, he faces notable challenges including unfamiliar track conditions and a lack of prior racing data. With a strong focus on improvement, Acosta aims to leverage victories from teammates to enhance his performance amidst difficulties.
