Somalia and Somaliland have unambiguously rejected proposals from the U.S. and Israel for resettling Palestinians from Gaza, emphasizing their commitment to the rights of Palestinians and their lack of awareness of any formal proposals related to this issue.

Recently, both Somalia and its autonomous region of Somaliland have publicly dismissed any notion of resettling Palestinians from Gaza. Their foreign ministers stated that they have not received any proposals from the United States or Israel regarding this matter. Somalia’s Foreign Minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi emphasized the nation’s firm commitment to rejecting any initiatives that would undermine the rights of Palestinians to their ancestral lands.

Officials from Sudan, Somalia, and Somaliland were reportedly contacted by U.S. and Israeli representatives to discuss the potential for using their territories in this resettlement effort. However, both Somali and Somaliland officials indicated they were not aware of any such discussions. Fiqi reaffirmed that Somalia’s government had not been approached with any proposals concerning resettlement, thus reiterating their opposition to utilizing Somali land for the relocation of displaced populations.

In summary, Somalia and Somaliland have firmly rejected any proposals for resettling Palestinians from Gaza, aligning themselves with the rights of the Palestinian people. They have stated their unawareness of any communications from the U.S. or Israel regarding this issue, reinforcing their stance against the alteration of their territory for the resettlement of displaced individuals.
