UAE and Sweden Sign Agreement on Political Consultations

The UAE and Sweden have signed an agreement for political consultations aimed at enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including economy, trade, education, and culture. The deal was signed during Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit to Sweden, where he also engaged in talks with Swedish officials. An MoU to improve investment opportunities was also established.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Sweden have formalized their diplomatic relations through the signing of an agreement focused on political consultations. This pact aims to enhance collaboration in various domains, including economy, trade, education, and culture.

The agreement was signed during a meeting between His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Maria Malmer Stenergard, Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, in Stockholm. Sheikh Abdullah’s visit to Sweden also included discussions with Swedish Defence Minister Pål Jonson.

In addition to the political consultation agreement, Sheikh Abdullah and Benjamin Dousa, Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, observed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering investment and business opportunities between the two nations.

The recent agreement between the UAE and Sweden signifies a strengthened partnership focused on political, economic, and cultural cooperation. Through high-level meetings and the signing of key documents, both nations aim to expand their mutual interests and opportunities, marking a notable advancement in diplomatic relations.
