Akani highlighted the success of the inaugural season held in Benin, where many talented individuals were recognized, leading to some receiving full athletic scholarships in the United States. Osaze Ebueku, MTN’s Senior Manager of Sponsorship and Go-To-Market, also addressed the event, emphasizing the company’s dedication to nurturing young athletes. He compared these athletes to unrefined diamonds, indicating that MTN is eager to return to Benin to uncover more exceptional talent.
Furthermore, the Chairman of the Edo Sports Commission, Amadin Enabulele, reiterated the administration’s commitment to developing grassroots sports. Enabulele confirmed that Governor Monday Okpebholo had authorized the use of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium and provided additional logistical support, ensuring a successful and impactful event in Edo State.
