The Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) has announced that individual tax return submissions must be completed within 16 days. Rasha Abdel Aal, ETA head, highlighted the support measures available, including free seminars and technical assistance to aid taxpayers in the electronic filing process. Taxpayers are encouraged to adhere to deadlines and utilize resources for effective tax return submissions.
The Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) is reminding taxpayers that there are only 16 days left to submit individual tax returns. Rasha Abdel Aal, Head of the ETA, clarified that submissions for 2024 tax returns will be accepted until March 31 for individuals and April 30 for companies.
To enhance voluntary tax compliance, the Ministry of Finance is providing substantial support to taxpayers. This includes a comprehensive assistance program featuring daily free seminars conducted by expert instructors to assist taxpayers and accountants with the electronic filing process and to address related inquiries.
Support committees have been established at various professional syndicates, civil society organizations, chambers of commerce, and business federations to streamline the tax return submission process. Furthermore, the Digital Services Center at the Treasury Headquarters in Lazoghly is providing technical assistance, utilizing advanced digital tools and a specialized support team.
The ETA chief has urged all taxpayers to adhere to submission deadlines via the electronic tax system and to utilize the free technical support available. She stressed that taxpayers registered under specific large taxpayer categories must submit their returns through the ETA’s new core tax system. Meanwhile, other taxpayers are directed to use the tax services portal for filing their returns.
As the deadline approaches for individual tax filings, it is crucial for taxpayers to comply with the electronic submission process and leverage the support services provided by the Egyptian Tax Authority. The initiatives in place aim to facilitate tax compliance and ensure smooth filing experiences for all taxpayers.
