Iran has condemned accusations by the G7 and EU as unfounded, asserting that these claims distort the truth. The Foreign Ministry criticized the G7’s military and financial support for Israel, holding them responsible for instability in West Asia. Iran maintains that its nuclear activities comply with international obligations and emphasizes its right to defend itself amidst allegations regarding its involvement in the Ukraine conflict.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has firmly denounced the accusations made by the Group of Seven (G7) nations and the European Union, labeling them as “completely baseless and deceitful.” Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei criticized the claims regarding Iran’s actions in the region as a distortion of the truth and a harmful projection of blame.

Baghaei emphasized the irresponsible and illegal interventions by G7 member states in West Asia, specifically regarding their military, financial, and political support for Israel. He argued that these nations must be held accountable for their misconduct in the region and their contributions to significant violations of international humanitarian law and human rights in Palestine.

The G7 foreign ministers and the EU foreign policy chief, during a recent meeting in Canada, issued a joint statement claiming that Iran is the “principal source of regional instability” and asserting that it must not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. This statement also included allegations against Iran concerning the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

In response, Baghaei asserted that Iran’s nuclear activities align with its technical and industrial necessities, as well as its commitments under international treaties, including the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). He described the G7’s concerns regarding Iran’s nuclear program as “unfounded” and reflecting a “political approach” of particular bloc members.

Moreover, Baghaei pointed out Iran’s commitment to establishing a West Asia devoid of nuclear weapons, identifying Israel as the main barrier to this objective. He criticized the regime for developing weapons of mass destruction with the backing of G7 countries, labeling it a serious threat to global peace and security.

The spokesperson reiterated Iran’s unwavering right to protect its sovereignty and integrity against any acts of aggression. He also dismissed the repeated allegations from the G7 regarding Iran’s involvement in the Ukraine war, asserting Tehran’s stance against conflict and its preference for a diplomatic resolution instead.

In conclusion, Iran has rejected the G7 and EU’s allegations as unfounded and misleading, asserting that these accusations stem from a political agenda. The Iranian government maintains its right to defend itself and emphasizes that it is not involved in the conflict in Ukraine. The ongoing support for Israel by G7 nations is viewed as a significant contributing factor to regional instability, while Iran continues to advocate for a nuclear-weapons-free West Asia.
