In their campaign from October 2023 to January of this year against military and civilian vessels, the Houthis targeted over 100 ships, resulting in two sunk vessels and the deaths of four sailors. While the U.S., Israel, and Britain have previously conducted strikes in Houthi-controlled areas, the recent operation on Saturday was solely undertaken by the U.S. It marked the first assault on the Houthis since Trump took office for a second term.
