Kobo Resources Expands Exploration Portfolio in Côte d’Ivoire

Kobo Resources Inc. has expanded its exploration strategy in Côte d’Ivoire by entering new earn-in agreements, adding 166.78 km² of territory, and applying for two additional licenses totaling 181.59 km². This strategy aligns with the company’s long-term growth goals, particularly in developing gold resources in a promising region of West Africa.
Kobo Resources Inc. has expanded its exploration strategy in Côte d’Ivoire by entering into two new earn-in agreements and applying for additional licenses. This strategic move enhances the company’s presence in one of West Africa’s most promising gold regions, aimed at fostering long-term growth.
The two earn-in agreements with local company NESDAVE MINING SARL add 166.78 km² of exploration territory. Under these terms, Kobo can acquire a 90% interest in two gold exploration licenses by investing €550 million CFA F (approximately C$1.25 million) over four years. An upfront payment and shares will also be granted to Nesdave as part of the agreements.
In collaboration with local partners, Kobo has established KUNIBOA MINING Co., where it holds a 40% stake as the primary shareholder. This venture has led the company to apply for two additional exploration licenses covering 181.59 km², significantly increasing its operational footprint in Côte d’Ivoire.
Edward Gosselin, CEO and Director of Kobo, stated that the expansion of their exploration footprint is vital to Kobo’s long-term growth strategy, allowing for further opportunities within the exploration sector of Côte d’Ivoire.
Kobo’s ongoing projects include the Kossou Gold Project, comprising over 15,000 meters of diamond drilling, which has showcased significant mineralization. The exploration continues to focus on high-priority targets that suggest extensive gold resources, laying the groundwork for future systematic exploration and resource development.
