Qatar Reaffirms Support for Peaceful Resolution in Russia-Ukraine Crisis
The Qatari-Russian Joint Committee convened to enhance bilateral cooperation and reaffirm Qatar’s commitment to resolving the Russia-Ukraine crisis through diplomatic dialogue. On Sunday, Doha hosted the fifth session of the Qatari-Russian Joint Committee on Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation. This session was co-chaired by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, and Denis Manturov, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
During the session, HE Sheikh Mohammed expressed his hopes that the outcomes would further strengthen relationships between Qatar and Russia across various sectors. He reiterated Qatar’s commitment to supporting all international efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to the Russia-Ukraine crisis through dialogue and diplomatic avenues.
He emphasized the importance of collective efforts to secure peace and enhance development and prosperity both regionally and globally. Furthermore, he highlighted the urgency of advancing the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement to facilitate a conclusive end to the conflict, thereby creating a foundation for lasting peace in the region.
The discussions also focused on improving bilateral cooperation in economic, trade, and technical sectors, with both sides exploring opportunities to bolster and develop these relations to benefit the mutual interests of the two nations.
