Located approximately 1,500 km from Mozambique’s capital, Maputo, UCM has become the second largest university campus in the country. Following its establishment, the Faculty of Medicine was initiated due to the advocacy of “Doctors with Africa Cuamm” and the collaboration with local health authorities. The medical education began in 2004, marking a significant milestone for aspiring doctors, culminating in the first graduation on August 25, 2007, as remembered by Fr. Alberto Ferreira, representing a historic achievement for the nation.
