India has formally requested that the Netherlands refrain from supplying arms and advanced military technologies to Pakistan, a nation that has been a longstanding sponsor of terrorism. This appeal was made by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh during a meeting with his Dutch counterpart, Ruben Brekelmans, in New Delhi. Singh emphasized that equipping Pakistan poses a significant threat to regional security and urged nations allied with India not to support such activities.
The discussion highlighted the existing naval collaboration between the Netherlands and Pakistan, which includes past provisions of second-hand military vessels. In the meeting, both ministers explored enhancing bilateral cooperation in various sectors, such as defence, security, and technology, focusing on the Indo-Pacific region and advanced applications in artificial intelligence.
Singh expressed his enthusiasm about deepening the defence relationship through a post on X, reflecting on their talks regarding several areas, including defence, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. Furthermore, Singh raised concerns regarding the secessionist group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) and its affiliations with Pakistan’s intelligence services during a discussion with U.S. intelligence director Tulsi Gabbard, arguing for the designation of SFJ as a terrorist organization.
Moreover, Singh reiterated India’s stance against terrorism, declaring that the country would respond decisively to any terrorist activities aimed at disrupting its peace, including taking action against entities based in Pakistan. His comments reaffirm the Indian government’s commitment to combating terrorism at all costs.
In summary, India urges the Netherlands not to provide military support to Pakistan, citing security concerns regarding regional stability and terrorism. The meeting between Minister Singh and Minister Brekelmans also focused on enhancing defence cooperation and technology exchange. Singh’s discussions on the secessionist threats further illustrate India’s commitment to addressing terrorism on all fronts, signaling the country’s proactive stance against international terror elements that threaten its sovereignty.
