Lamborghini has unveiled its new supercar, the Temerario, at an event in Johannesburg. Priced at R7,525,000, it serves as a successor to the Huracán, featuring a hybrid powertrain with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 and three electric motors. The car accelerates to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds and offers 13 different driving modes for optimal performance.
Lamborghini has introduced its new supercar, the Temerario, at a recent event in Johannesburg. Positioned as the successor to the Huracán, this model will be available for an impressive price of R7,525,000 in South African showrooms.
According to Lamborghini’s Chief Technical Officer, Rouven Mohr, “Temerario offers an innovative and emotional driving experience at the same time. The e-4WD system including real torque vectoring is a perfect combination.” This new car showcases a hybrid powertrain featuring a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, complemented by three electric motors to achieve a remarkable output of 677kW.
The Temerario impressively accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds. Rouven Mohr highlighted the dual nature of the vehicle, stating, “On the one hand we have a car that is absolutely precise and effective on the track, on the other we have a more typically rear-wheel drive character, oriented towards maximum involvement for the driver.”
This model marks a historic milestone as the first Lamborghini super sports car to be equipped with a V8 twin-turbo engine in conjunction with electric motors, as well as the second in the High-Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) lineup.
Drivers can select from 13 different driving modes using steering wheel-mounted rotors, including Città, Strada, Sport, Corsa, and Corsa Plus. Additionally, activating Launch Control is as simple as pressing the “checkered flag” button for two seconds, enhancing performance for quick accelerations in urban environments.
