North Korea condemned the U.S. military action against Yemen’s Houthi rebels as a violation of international law. Ambassador Ma Tong-hui criticized these actions for causing civilian casualties and for undermining the sovereignty of nations. He called for international protest against U.S. aggression and urged the cessation of military operations.

On Tuesday, North Korea condemned the United States’ military actions against Houthi rebels in Yemen, describing them as a “wanton” breach of international law. Ma Tong-hui, North Korea’s ambassador to Egypt and Yemen, expressed these sentiments in a report from the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). This condemnation followed reports of the Pentagon’s large-scale military operation aimed at Iranian-aligned Houthi forces, which resulted in numerous civilian casualties, including women and children.

The North Korean ambassador emphasized that the U.S. military operation represents a serious violation of international regulations, including the U.N. Charter. He stated that such actions constitute an encroachment on the sovereignty of nations, which cannot be rationalized. Ma Tong-hui expressed deep concern regarding the United States’ conduct and accused it of pursuing its exclusive geopolitical ambitions, thereby violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of other nations.

Furthermore, he called on the international community to voice strong objections to what he termed U.S. “hooliganism,” which he argued disrupts regional peace and stability. Ma urged the U.S. to cease its indiscriminate use of force immediately and emphasized the need for collective international protests against these actions. It is noteworthy that Iran, a nation characterized by its amicable relations with North Korea, remains involved in this complex geopolitical situation.

In summary, North Korea has issued a strong denunciation of U.S. military actions in Yemen against Houthi rebels, labeling them as a violation of international law. Ambassador Ma Tong-hui expressed concerns regarding the implications of these actions on regional peace and sovereignty. He urged the international community to take a stand against what he described as U.S. aggression, calling for an immediate cessation of military force by Washington.
