In an official statement from the state news agency Wam, Minister of State Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan emphasized the UAE’s unwavering stance against all forms of violence and terrorism that threaten regional security.
The attack, carried out by the Al Shabaab group, targeted the presidential convoy in Mogadishu, resulting in multiple casualties. Sheikh Shakhboot extended heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and offered well wishes for the injured to recover swiftly.
Somali presidential adviser Zakariye Hussein later reassured the public, confirming on social media platform X that President Mohamud had emerged unharmed and was en route to the front lines to address the situation.
