Unfortunately, as engine changes and sponsorships diminished, the team began its decline, though they enjoyed one last victory with Giancarlo Fisichella at the 2003 Brazil GP.
In 2005, Jordan sold the team, which had celebrated five victories and remained resilient despite limited resources. The team continues to operate today as Aston Martin from Jordan’s original Silverstone base. Eddie Jordan has maintained a prominent presence in F1 as a commentator and analyst.
In addition to motorsport, Jordan has diverse interests, including a shareholding in Celtic Football Club, racehorse ownership, and hobbies such as golf, cycling, and sailing. His business acumen has reportedly amassed an estimated fortune of $600 million by 2023, stemming from investments in oil, property, gaming, and hedge funds. In 2012, he was honored with an OBE for his charitable contributions.
In December 2024, Jordan announced that he had been diagnosed with aggressive prostate and bladder cancer. Born on March 30, 1948, in Dublin, he is survived by his wife, Marie, a former Irish basketball player, and four children.
