The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has allocated N242.8 million for the acquisition of a Microsoft 365 licence. This investment aims to digitize the operations of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) to enhance efficiency in revenue generation and collection.

The announcement was made by Mr. Michael Ango, the Acting Executive Chairman of FCT-IRS, after a meeting chaired by Minister Nyesom Wike in Abuja. Mr. Ango noted that this investment underscores the FCTA’s commitment to leveraging technology to modernize revenue operations.

He pointed out that procuring the Microsoft 365 licence will facilitate the transition from manual to automated processes, thus improving internal communication within the agency. This upgrade is expected to significantly reduce paper usage by allowing for the digital storage of important documents and enhancing record-keeping practices.

Furthermore, Ango highlighted that these digitisation initiatives align with the government’s objective of elevating revenue for the development of the capital territory under Minister Wike’s administration. The anticipated improvements in operational efficacy are crucial for the future progress of the FCT-IRS.

The FCTA’s strategic investment of N242.8 million in a Microsoft 365 licence marks a pivotal step towards digitizing the FCT-IRS operations. This initiative promises to enhance efficiency, reduce reliance on paper, and streamline internal communications, all of which are essential for improving revenue collection and supporting the growth of the Federal Capital Territory under the guidance of Minister Wike.
