Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit, from March 19 to 22, signifies a commitment to strengthening Pakistan-Saudi Arabia ties. The session at the high levels emphasized the promotion of military collaboration while both leaders voiced satisfaction regarding increased economic cooperation. PM Shehbaz expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s ongoing investment engagements in crucial Pakistani sectors.
The Prime Minister commended the enduring friendship with Saudi Arabia and highlighted its significance in fostering a mutually beneficial economic partnership. Additionally, he acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s essential role in Middle Eastern peace efforts and support for Ukraine. Both leaders agreed to enhance welfare measures for Pakistanis residing in Saudi Arabia and stressed the importance of cultural exchanges and educational partnerships. Prime Minister Shehbaz’s visit was invitation-based, and he intends to spend time in Makkah and Madina before meeting King Salman in Jeddah. His previous engagement in Saudi Arabia included participation in the Future Investment Initiative in October 2024, resulting in over $2 billion in memorandums of understanding to bolster economic collaboration.
