Renergen Commences Commercial Sales of Liquid Helium in South Africa

Renergen has begun commercial sales of liquid helium, achieving -269˚C for production. The helium is sourced from the Virginia Gas Project in South Africa. Estimates suggest the project could generate revenues of approximately $313.7 million to $341.2 million upon full production. The project includes two phases, targeting significant liquid helium and LNG production.
Renergen, a producer of natural gas and helium, has officially commenced commercial sales of liquid helium. The company aims to consistently supply Dewars with capacities ranging from 250 to 500 liters of liquid helium. Remarkably, Renergen achieved cooling temperatures of -269˚C on March 13, with commercial sales commencing the next day.
Renergen’s successful initiation of liquid helium sales marks a significant milestone in the company’s operational strategy. By leveraging the Virginia Gas Project, Renergen anticipates substantial revenues and aims to enhance production capabilities significantly in both phases of the project, thus solidifying its position in the helium market.
