Furthermore, Peter Tum has been nominated as the Kenyan Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) while Alfred K’Ombundo will serve as Deputy Head of Mission in Belgium.
The notice revealed, “Per Article 132 (2) (e) of the Constitution, His Excellency the President has nominated the following persons to serve as Ambassadors, Consuls-General, and Deputy Heads of Mission in Kenya’s foreign missions abroad.” The nominations have been sent to the National Assembly for consideration and approval, adhering to legal requirements established in the Constitution.
Nakhumicha’s appointment closely follows her recent appeal to President Ruto for a government role, citing financial difficulties she was facing. Her nomination reflects the administration’s ongoing efforts to fill significant posts within its ranks and address past Cabinet vacancies effectively.
In summary, President William Ruto has nominated Susan Nakhumicha to the position of Permanent Representative to the UN Habitat, marking her return to governmental service after her previous Cabinet role.
