FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers: Teams Advance to Final Round

Nigeria, Guinea, Cameroon, and Zambia have qualified for the third round of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers. Each team achieved significant victories, with Nigeria defeating South Africa 2-0, Guinea overcoming Sierra Leone 2-1, Cameroon edging Ethiopia 1-0, and Zambia winning against Tanzania 1-0.
In the recent FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, Nigeria, Guinea, Cameroon, and Zambia have successfully advanced to the third and final round. They join Côte d’Ivoire in this stage, following their victories on March 14.
Nigeria solidified their place by defeating South Africa 2-0 in Ikenne, concluding with an aggregate score of 5-1. Harmony Chidi opened the scoring in the 37th minute, followed by Aishat Animashaun’s goal in the 56th minute, enhancing Nigeria’s pursuit of the World Cup finals.
Guinea triumphed over Sierra Leone with a score of 2-1, resulting in an aggregate of 4-3. Kouyaté Aïcha initiated the scoring in the 8th minute, while Aïssatou Diallo added a second goal in the 54th minute, thus preserving Guinea’s aspirations for a World Cup qualification.
Cameroon earned a narrow 1-0 win against Ethiopia, ensuring their aggregate score stood at 6-2. Tazanou Ange, previously a scorer in the first leg, netted the only goal of this match, propelling Cameroon into the final qualification stage, where they will face the winner of the Kenya-Uganda match.
Zambia also progressed after defeating Tanzania 1-0, resulting in a 4-0 aggregate victory. Masela Sekeseke scored just six minutes after being substituted, sealing Zambia’s advancement. They will meet the winner of the Benin versus DR Congo match in upcoming qualifiers.
