Vietnam positions Mozambique as a priority partner in Africa, aiming to enhance cooperation and mutual development. Ambassador Trần Thị Thu Thìn communicated this vision during her credentials presentation to President Chapo, highlighting the Movitel venture as a success and calling for further Vietnamese investments in Mozambique.

Vietnam highly regards its traditional friendship and cooperation with Mozambique, recognizing it as a priority partner in Africa. The country aspires to enhance solidarity and partnership for mutual benefits, while promoting global peace and development. This sentiment was expressed by Trần Thị Thu Thìn, Vietnam’s Ambassador to Mozambique, during her credentials presentation to President Daniel Francisco Chapo in Maputo on March 19.

During the meeting, President Chapo congratulated Ambassador Thìn on her new role, expressing confidence in her ability to foster robust relations between the two nations. He remarked on the positive trajectory of their longstanding friendship and collaboration, particularly emphasizing the Movitel venture—a joint initiative by Vietnam’s Viettel Group and Mozambique’s SPI—as a testament to successful bilateral cooperation. Chapo encouraged further Vietnamese investment in Mozambique.

Ambassador Thìn reaffirmed her dedication to enhancing the friendship and expanding multifaceted cooperation, particularly in emerging sectors such as mining, telecommunications, information technology, and digital transformation. She advocated for support for the Vietnamese community in Mozambique to fortify bilateral ties.

Additionally, the Ambassador conveyed warm wishes from Party General Secretary Tô Lâm and State President Lương Cường to President Chapo on his chairmanship of the Mozambique Liberation Front and presidential inauguration. She extended an invitation for President Chapo to visit Vietnam at his earliest convenience.

In summation, the relationship between Vietnam and Mozambique is characterized by a strong historical bond with a focus on mutual benefits and development. The recent engagements suggest a commitment to deepening cooperation across various sectors, while efforts to support the Vietnamese community in Mozambique will underpin these ties. Both nations look forward to enhancing their collaboration for shared growth and prosperity.
