This sentiment arose during separate ceremonies at Malacañan Palace, where he received the credentials of the new ambassadors from these nations. Marcos believes that close collaboration with these ambassadors will foster stronger ties among the nations involved.

In his address to Colombian Ambassador Edgar Rodrigo Rojas Garavito, Marcos emphasized the potential for cooperation in various sectors, noting that both nations share the aspiration for “lasting peace and development.” Diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Colombia were established on July 5, 1946, and there are approximately 100 Filipinos residing in Colombia.

Marcos also expressed his desire to strengthen bilateral ties with Cambodia, recognizing the robust foundation the two countries share. He welcomed Ambassador Sin Saream and highlighted the importance of mutual benefits between the nations for prosperity. Diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Cambodia have existed since August 20, 1957, with around 7,500 Filipinos currently living in Cambodia.

Regarding Ukraine, Ambassador Yuliia Oleksandrivna Fediv conveyed her readiness to enhance bilateral relations, focused on fostering peace and mutual respect. Marcos reaffirmed the Philippines’ support for Ukraine in its efforts towards lasting peace, stating the desire to assist even from a distance. Diplomatic relations with Ukraine were established on April 7, 1992, and approximately 24 Filipinos reside in Ukraine.
