SiCarrier’s Ambitious Product Roadmap: ASML-Compatible Tools by 2026

SiCarrier has announced plans to release ASML-compatible lithography machines by 2026, with significant partnerships and expansion strategies underway. The company is backed by prominent figures in the semiconductor industry and aims to establish a notable presence in global markets.

SiCarrier, a Chinese chip equipment firm, has made a significant impression at SEMICON China by outlining an ambitious product roadmap. The company claims it will launch ASML-compatible lithography machines for 300-mm wafers utilizing 28nm processes by 2026. Zhao Min, Market Director at SiCarrier, mentioned that a specialized team is focused on achieving compatibility with existing domestic fabrication equipment.

According to SiCarrier’s CTO, Chen Dong, the company is collaborating with various fabs to establish joint laboratories, with expectations to announce its inaugural commercial orders by the fourth quarter of 2025. Notably, SiCarrier’s clientele consists of major Chinese foundries, such as SMIC and Hua Hong Group, and some etching equipment has already entered production for power semiconductor lines.

The company, founded in 2022, has plans to expand its research and development centers to over 10 cities within the next three years and establish service centers in Europe and Southeast Asia. SiCarrier is backed by notable figures, including Dai Jun, who holds supervisory roles for China’s Big Fund II and serves on the board of SMIC, as reported by China’s Securities Times.

In 2023, SiCarrier gained attention with a patent related to 5nm chips utilizing DUV tools, connected to Huawei’s 7nm chip featured in the Mate 60 Pro. While its lithography tools remain undisclosed, SiCarrier presented an impressive range of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including systems for metrology, inspection, and testing, at SEMICON China, as highlighted by Tom’s Hardware.

SiCarrier is positioning itself to become a pivotal player in the semiconductor equipment industry with its strategic plans to launch high-compatibility lithography tools by 2026. Its partnerships with leading foundries and expansion to various regions denote a focused effort on enhancing technology within the domestic and international market.
